On May 8-9, 2017, Donostia-San Sebastián hosted the third edition of the UNWTO World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism, organized in collaboration with the Basque Culinary Center, with the support of the Donostia-San Sebastián City Council, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Basque Government.

Experts from 20 countries from the public and private spheres, representing government entities, businessmen, academics, and chefs participated in panels, presentations, and workshops that connected gastronomic tourism and sustainability.
